Mostly used is so called mucus from the salep, which is produced by mixing salep powder and water, but there are many recipes for the preparation of salep, so unless water, it can be prepared with milk, chocolate or fruit juices.

  • Salep

In a bowl put 200 ml of water to boil. Before it starts making bubbles, put 1-2 teaspoons of salep powder and mix it for no longer than one minute.   • Salep with chocolate

Melt 100g chocolate with a teaspoon of butter or margarine. In the mixture add 10g salep powder. Stir well. Consume it when cooled and hardened. Its taste is amazing.

  • Milk salep

Boil a little bit 300 ml milk and add 10 g salep powder. Cook it over on a low heat until the mixture thickens and becomes like pudding. Sweeten it with vanilla sugar and sprinkle it with cinnamon. Drink it warm.
